Serving as Principal Horn of ROCO, Principal Horn of the CMI (Classical Music Institute) Symphony Orchestra, San Antonio Opera Orchestra, and San Antonio Ballet Orchestra, Nelson is also a current member of the Chicago Civic Symphony Orchestra, as well as third horn of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. He is a frequent substitute for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and an active participant in many top music festivals such as Marlboro Music Festival, Classical Tahoe, and Spoleto. From 2015 through 2018, he served as a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (where he was the youngest musician to win a position), making multiple tours of Europe and Latin America under the baton of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. From 2018 to 2021, he held the position of Associate Principal Horn of the Symphony Orchestra of San Juan-Argentina. He is currently completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Performance at Roosevelt University in Chicago with Maestro David Cooper.
