Bio
Christina Carroll has been the principal percussionist of the Houston Ballet Orchestra since 1984. She has also performed with ROCO, Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Symphony, Theater Under the Stars, Houston Masterworks Chorale, the Kingwood Chorale, and many other area groups.
She studied with Robin Kennedy and Phil Kraus and was educated at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. She did fellowship programs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado. She also studied jazz drums at the Berklee School of Music in Boston.
She has taught at Rice University, the University of St. Thomas, Houston Baptist University, and AFA. She has appeared as a soloist with the Salina, KS Symphony and the Houston Concert Band.
She enjoys the variety of playing in Houston groups and the opportunities to play with different musicians in different styles. She loves attending theater and relaxing with friends and her husband, Marco DuBose.
