When you meet Spring, ask her… Is where she lives a coincidence? What’s the best advice she gives married couples? Where do the cats sleep at night?

Bio

Spring Hill received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master of Music in Performance and Literature from Baylor University. In 1983, she placed second in the Fernand Gillet International Double Reed Competition in Baltimore, Maryland. Spring was also a member of the award winning Cimarron Wind Quintet that won first prize at the Monterey Peninsula Chamber Music Competition in Carmel, California. Cimarron’s diverse repertoire delighted audiences from elementary schools in Houston to concert halls in Warsaw, Poland.

Spring was the Professor of Oboe at Sam Houston State University for 23 years. She recently retired in order to dedicate more time to her counseling career. She has also served on other faculties at Temple College, Midland College, Artist-in Residence at Houston Community College, and St. Thomas University.

In addition to performing with ROCO as second Oboe and English horn, Spring is also a member of the Houston Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera Orchestras.
