ROCO Connections: From Here, There, and Nowhere
Join us as ROCO's Connections series returns to Asia Society Texas Center on March 22 for Here, There, and Nowhere, presenting an intimate evening of chamber music! ROCO violinist Min-Jeong Koh curates a personal, meaningful program of works by Asian composers, accompanied by her sister Bo Yon Koh on piano—musically telling their stories of immigrating from Korea to embracing their new home in the United States.
ROCO Unchambered: Thomas Hultén
ROCO Principal Trombonist Thomas Hultén leads his first Unchambered concert on February 24, curating an eclectic program ranging from classical to jazz, highlighting the wonders of the brass family in chamber works featuring the trombone.
ROCO In Concert: Friends
Join us as ROCO's In Concert series continues with a celebration of "Friends", on February 18 at Rice University's Brockman Hall for Opera! This concert truly showcases the orchestra, as the ensemble performs conductorless, with Artistic Partner and Concertmaster Scott St. John leading from the chair. A world premiere co-commission by Brian Raphael Nabors features, along with works by Joachim Raff, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Antonin Dvorak.
ROCO Connections: A House of My Own
Join us as ROCO’s Connections series continues on February 4th, with a modern twist on a Schubertiade salon concert in the glorious ballroom of Rienzi! Sponsored by Gigi Noyes & Steinway Piano Gallery, the evening will feature the world premiere of two new songs by Composer-In-Residence Derek Bermel and author Sandra Cisneros, as well as the song "A House of My Own" from the opera THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET, to be sung by mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte.

Roll out the barrel–as this annual ROCO tradition returns to ring in the new year, continuing the Connections series! Join us as ROCO's Season 18 Unchambered series kicks off on November 4 at LIFE HTX, as ROCO's Principal Bassoonist Kristin Wolfe Jensen curates a program centered around our gratitude for educators, featuring chamber music for double reeds and an interactive Q&A, and including a ROCO World Premiere Co-Commission by Kate Pukinskis for bassoon, oboe, and voice.
