ROCO’s Connections series concluded on May 7 at the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern with a one-of-a-kind performance in “Interwoven”—featuring the ROCO brass in a site-specific world premiere commission by Marcus Maroney!
This performance was co-presented with Buffalo Bayou Partnership and is part of Underground Sounds, a series of musical performances that highlight the remarkable natural acoustics of the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern.
Playing off the Cistern’s unique 17-second reverberation, Marcus Maroney’s skill at weaving instrumental sounds together and juxtaposing them against each other took audiences on a magical sound journey inside one of Houston’s most iconic spaces, based upon The Four Elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air.
