ROCO’s trailblazing spirit is embodied in “COURAGEOUS”, spotlighting the full 40-piece chamber orchestra, on February 8th at The Church of St. John the Divine! Led by ROCO’s newest Artistic Partner Delyana Lazarova, and featuring acclaimed pianist Lara Downes, this concert is a testament to daring artistry.
The Houston Youth Symphony joins ROCO once again in a dynamic side-by-side collaboration, for Emilie Mayer‘s bold Overture No. 2 in D Major. Explore the cutting edge of classical music with the Texas premiere of Clarice Assad‘s Evolution of AI, a ROCO co-commissioned work featuring the composer as performer, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence for creation. Then, experience the world premiere of Assad’s Total Eclipse, a piano concerto commissioned by ROCO, inspired by the 2024 total solar eclipse and contrasts of light and darkness. The evening culminates with revolutionary exuberance, in Ludwig van Beethoven‘s passionate Symphony No. 7.
Enjoy a night out for you, and music education and childcare for the kids, with ROCOrooters! Providing over 5 hours of childcare under the supervision of certified and bonded childcare professionals, our program is available during all of ROCO’s In Concert performances at The Church of St. John the Divine. Cost is $45 per child, and ages 2 months to 10 years are welcome.
This performance will also be livestreamed free at ROCO.org, Facebook, and YouTube.
