ROCO Celebrates Austria, our Season Nine conductorless concert, featured Andrés Cárdenes as concertmaster and soloist. This concert showcased all the major Austrian composers and their famous chamber orchestra works: Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 103 in E-flat Major, “Drum Roll”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Serenade in D major, KV 239, ‘Serentata notturna’, and Arnold Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony No.2, Op. 38. Arrangements of Fritz Kriesler’s Leibesleid and Tambourin Chinois close the performance. Performed February 22, 2014, at The Church of St. John the Divine, Houston, TX.
