ROCO’s Unchambered series started on October 19, 2019 with clarinetists Nathan Williams and Maiko Sasaki, accompanied by pianist Colette Valentine, in a program of duos ranging from Classical era favorites to modern commissions. The trio started with a landmark work by Felix Mendelssohn, then visited the exotic with the music of Bela Kovacs and Michael Tenzer, then ended with a dramatic flair in contemporary pieces by Theresa Martin and Houston composer Marcus Maroney.
