ROCO on the Go – weaving our music through the landscape, providing a soundtrack for Houston!
Explore the five Habitat Hikes at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center with curated musical selections. These self-guided Habitat Hikes give you an insider’s look at the Arboretum. Each hike passes one of the Arboretum’s educational Field Stations and features some of their Naturalists’ favorite stops such as ponds teaming with wildlife, trees with interesting stories, insect houses, and other fun points of interest. The music on each playlist was selected to complement the different parts of each ecosystem highlighted on the hikes.
When visiting the Houston Arboretum, pick up a Habitat Hike trail map and scan the code for the hike of your choosing. You can also hear the music we’ve paired with each hike by scrolling below, but we encourage you to visit the Arboretum and immerse yourself in the environment in person!

I was at the Arboretum today and noticed the ROCO signs. I recently saw a ROCO performance (Tapestry), which raised my curiosity about the signs in the Arboretum. I didn’t have my phone with me on my walk. So I’m at home looking at these playlists to accompany hikers through different habitats.
Thank you for creating these! I will listen to them next time I hike in the Arboretum.
What a blessing. I appreciate your time and thoughtfulness.
