ROCO is excited to announce a partnership this season with Coregami, a Texas-based clothing company that specializes in performal™ wear – concert attire that combines athletic functionality with formal aesthetics.
Frustrated by the incredible discomfort of his concert tuxedo and the lack of alternatives, Coregami founder, violinist Kevin Yu, became obsessed with re-thinking and re-imagining formal wear. The result? A high-tech, moisture wicking, flexible, and breathable tuxedo shirt! As ROCO violinist Pasha Sabouri has observed, “Wearing a traditional tux shirt and jacket can be really restrictive. The Coregami shirt feels like an athletic shirt and lets me move much more freely while I play.”
Since the company’s launch in 2015, the unique attributes of the Coregami shirt have been lauded by The New York Times, The Times of London, The BBC, The Washingtonian, and NBC, as well as several prominent musicians across the country.
ROCO, however, is the first chamber orchestra to be fully sponsored by Coregami! Each of the men in the orchestra has been fit with one of the company’s two available styles. The start of this exciting partnership coincides with ROCO’s annual Conductorless! concert.
