Bio
Jared Lantzy, originally from Abilene, TX, received his musical education from Texas Tech University and DePaul University, earning diplomas in 2005 and 2007, respectively. As a student he studied with Charlie Vernon, Don Lucas, Floyd Cooley, and Mark Fisher.
Jared served as the bass trombonist of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2018. While with the HSO, Mr. Lantzy was also a member of the Honolulu Brass Quintet, Hawai’i Opera Theatre, Ballet Hawai’i, and served as both a guest lecturer of Tuba/ Euphonium at the University of Hawai’i Manoa and a trombone lecturer at BYU Laie.
In addition to appearing with the ROCO brass quintet, Jared has appeared with the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Theater Under the Stars, and the Houston Jazz Orchestra. Outside of Houston, Mr. Lantzy has held a one year contract with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and appeared with several other American orchestras, including the Ft. Worth Symphony, Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, New Mexico Symphony, Austin Symphony, Waco Symphony, Roswell Symphony, Dallas Chamber Musicians, and Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
As a soloist Jared has presented recitals & master classes throughout the U.S. and Costa Rica. He maintains a private teaching studio in the Ft. Worth area and is a proprietor of Edwards House Texas. Jared is an Edwards Instruments performing artist.
