ROCO continued its 2016-2017 season with “People are People – Conductorless!”. Grammy-nominated violinist, Andrés Cárdenes, returned as concertmaster to lead the orchestra’s annual conductorless concert. Cárdenes also served as soloist in the world premiere of a new concerto written specifically for him and commissioned by ROCO – Lorenz’s second violin concerto, Dance Unlikely. Other works featured on the program included Boccherini’s Symphony No. 25 in A major, Copland’s Three Latin American Sketches, Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia No. 8 in D major, and Eryilmaz’s Flying Sirto.
