Following the most recent public health recommendations, we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming ROCO Unchambered concert, Personalities, on April 4. For those of you who have purchased tickets for this event, we will be reaching out to you separately. For more information, please see our full COVID-19 response HERE.
The Unchambered series draws to a close with “Personalities”, a double-reed program curated by ROCO’s founder, artistic director, and principal oboist Alecia Lawyer, telling her own coming-of-age story as a musician.
Dedicated to the memory and colorful personality of long-time ROCO supporter Fannie Tapper, the concert’s title is inspired by Alyssa Morris’s piece Four Personalities, a work based on Hartman’s Color Code Personality Profile. In addition to Morris’s music, the evening will also feature new commissions by Erberk Eryilmaz and Karim Al-Zand, contemporary works by Josef Bednarik and Tina Nicholson, plus Jan Dismas Zelenka’s baroque Sonata IV – one of his six “trio sonatas”, richly scored for two oboes, bassoon, and basso continuo. Plus, don’t forget to bring your double-reed questions, as well, for an interactive Q&A!
Featured ROCO musicians will be Alecia Lawyer, oboe; Spring Hill, oboe/English horn; Erin Tsai, oboe; Kristin Wolfe Jensen, bassoon; and Andreea Mut, piano/harpsichord.
Come early to enjoy a glass of wine on us, at a pre-concert reception, beginning at 4:30 pm!
