HOUSTON, TX – Back by popular demand, ROCO’s wine-tasting “instrument petting zoo” for adults returns to Padre’s Wine Bar on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6:30 PM. Adding a seasonal flair for this time of year, Make a Joyful Noise! invites Houstonians for another round of music-making and celebration with friends.
Similar to last season’s event, ROCO flips the script for one night, inviting adults to experience the thrill of being a musician in a fun, no-pressure environment. Attendees can explore four interactive stations with various instruments divided by the main musical families that you see on ROCO’s stages: winds, brass, strings, and percussion. Each station is led by a core ROCO musician to help newbies produce sound and have fun experimenting with the instruments.
It’s also the perfect occasion to get in the holiday spirit with a variety of wines and tasty food bites curated by Padre’s Wine Bar, while mingling with friends familiar and new.
“Fun should not be a forbidden word in classical music,” said Alecia Lawyer, Founder, Artistic Director, and Principal Oboist of ROCO. “It never has been with ROCO, so come explore like you did when you were a kid!”
Underlining the night’s activities is a fun challenge open to all guests: anyone who makes their way to all four stations to try playing each instrument family will unlock the chance to strike the ROCO gong.
